  • Open up the bail

Once you have the right type of bail, there is a need for opening up the bail. For those who don’t know, it is a small part in the U-shape on the spinning reel.

The bail gets open when it is up and get closed when it down. Here, you have to open the bail so that the process to load the line gets started.

  • Tying knots

Now, this one is the most important step in this complete tutorial where we will attach the fishing line to the reel. Here, you have to pick the end of fishing line so that it can be tied on the arbor that is a little loop on the real made especially for this purpose.

After tying, you have to wrap the line across the arbor using the tag end. To make things easier, tie an overhand knot near the standing portion followed by another knot at a distance of an inch from the first one.

  • Pulling

Pull out the fishing line’s standard part, so that first overhand knot slides downwards completely against the spool.

Once it did, you have to follow the same process for the second knot and try to take it as near as possible to the first one.  If there is any remaining tag end in the line, it should be cut as you don’t need it any longer.

  • Closing bail

In the second step, we open up the bail for beginning the process. Once you tie the fishing line on the spool, you have to push the bail down so that it returns to its closing position.

It is quite a simple process that can be performed with minimal effort, even if you are a complete beginner.
