how to clean polarized sunglasses

Polarized sunglasses are not as same as the regular glasses that are often used. There is a difference in price in both types of sunglasses. In comparison to any other glasses, the polarized glasses are specially manufactured to reduce disruption of vision by improving the sharpness of your vision when there is a bright light. This sunglasses are quite popular among trekkers, snow skiers, beachgoers etc. This type of polarized glasses required a special kind of treatment to keep its effectiveness intact and last long. A different company manufactures their polarized glasses differently leads to different instructions in the case of maintenance, however, there are some common and useful points through which you can take very good care of your precious glasses. Definitely, you do not want your expensive polarized glasses goes in vain due to lack of care. The following points will guide you on how to clean polarized sunglasses.

Follow The Instruction Given

You must follow the instructions that are given to you by the manufacturer. As I already said the different company uses different kinds of stuff for making their polarized sunglasses in that case no two company can have all the cleaning technique same. Before stepping forward you must have proper knowledge about it. Apart from having any special criterion these steps more or less goes with almost all polarized glasses.

Microfibre Cloth

You need to have a micro fibre cloth. We all have this tendency to rub our glasses with any random clothes thinking it won’t damage the glasses but it actually does. Mostly all of the polarized sunglasses come with a piece of microfibre and if you are provided with it, you can easily buy it from any of the eyewear shops. If you are thinking of using a soft cotton cloth then you should stop thinking about it as this is not allowed by the manufactures. If you think of washing the micro fibre piece you can only avoid using fabric softeners this may accumulate unwanted stuff that can scratch the glasses.

No To Rubbing Without Making The Glasses Wet

Never, and I mean it never rub your sunglasses before fetching water on it. Water can easily remove the dirt particles or oil or any substance from your glasses. Sand particles or salt residue or any abrasive substance must be rinsed before rubbing the glasses.

Rub in a proper way

Rub the glasses when it is wet, don’t let it dry. no showcasing your strength on that little piece of the object, the minimum pressure must be used in it. Don’t indulge in the old methods of cleaning your glasses as those are for normal glasses. Definitely, it won’t damage your glasses however not worth cleaning with such methods.

Usage Of Lens Cleaner

You can use the lens cleaner that is recommended by the manufacturers. If they write it against using lens cleaner then please do not go beyond their will. There are some population who will try to use window cleaners or soaps instead of lens cleaner, if you too think of doing so then you must know the consequence. The above step ends up in blurring your glasses by dissolving the much expensive coating. If you are not willing to choose the specifically branded lens cleaner, you must do check the ph value that should be between 5.5 to 8 and also the alcohol percentage should be not more than 5%.

No To Using The Lens Cleaner

Avoid using the lens cleaner when using the water.

Work Of Polarized Glasses

This thing must be known to you is that the polarized glasses have features of filtering out the surface glare, for example, the reflecting of light in water or snow or car hoods and many other places. Due to such stuff, a mild thin coat is applied on the two respective lenses. And the thin layer requires a hell lot of care as this is more tend to get scratches as well as dissolves too fast.

Protecting

Not only cleaning but there is complete need of protecting your eyewear too. Be it the budget-friendly one or the expensive one the better care you will take the better results will be achieved. When not using the glasses you need to have the practice of keeping the glasses into the box. Keeping it open led to the accumulation of debris and dust particle that is in the air.

No To High Temperature

You should never keep the polarized sunglasses under the high temperature this leads to the deformation of the respective coating.

No To Dry Rub

Like I have mentioned it before, rubbing the glasses though with microfibre cloths but in dry state should not be done.  The tiny dust particles that are embedded into the sunglasses causes damage when rubbed without rinsing the glasses thoroughly.

Professional Cleaners

Many branded company gives the small repairing kit with the polarized glasses. by using the proper instruction of such kit can really make wander to your respective polarized sunglasses. Even the minor repairing can also do by using the repairing kit. However, you should go to the eyewear shop where they can inspect any flaw in your glasses, repair it in time thus preventing further damages.

Simply do not run to the shop whenever there is an accumulation of dust or debris in the sunglasses. Try to do it on your own as it hardly requires anything extra. However, a routine check-up will extend the life expectancy of your glasses. These glasses do such treatment according to their price.

Conclusion

The above-given points are quite fruitful to others and I am sure it will be fruitful to you too. Cleaning your polarized sunglasses are a quite easy task, even a beginner can achieve success all you need to follow the instruction given and you will nail it.
