Bowfishing Tips: All in one

Bowfishing Tips

A lazy afternoon with your family or friends and bowfishing isn’t it the great way of spending the respective day. You might be a beginner or the pro fisher there is the constant need to refine your ability to catch fish when there is no way of getting back without many fishes. In bowfishing your techniques are required to be sharp. In this blog, we will get a clear idea of how you can sharpen bowfishing techniques for your next bowfishing adventure. So, don’t wait and follow these steps

  1. Setting your bowfishing perfectly:

Tuning your bow perfectly is the key for gathering more and more fishes. Improper tuning of the bow raises hitting problems. With the appropriate tuning, you definitely will conquer the hit to miss ratios. Be sure that you know how to do it. Once done before leaving for fishing practices your shoot.  Checking your sight pin is also important and it must be dialed inward.

  1. Polarized glasses of the best quality:

Seeing the appropriate positioning of the fish is important. The vision becomes problematic when

you wish to bow fish during the day time. A good quality polarised glasses should fit to your face in such a way that you even forget they are on you. Select the one with good straps such that the glasses stick onto your face even in the hard splash.

  1. Using the specifical design arrows

Choosing the right arrow that suits you is required. For a beginner, you might get the arrows that everybody uses though there is nothing wrong in it having the right one makes your experience was much better than you ever thought.  In the market, two kinds of arrows are being widely used. The fibreglass arrow which is cheaper than the carbon fibre arrows thus quietly affordable. You may use any of them. While buying the arrows you must keep in mind that the fletching mustn’t be there. Most of the fisher prefers arrows that are heavy and fletching both complicate the process along with it unnecessary. The shots are short mostly thus fletching does not really help.

  1. Getting out of the boat

Standing on the deck of your respective boat and shooting is the easiest way for bowfishiing but sometimes there is a need of getting out of your boat and shoot at the aim.  In the shallow water, it is difficult to aim at the fish from the boat as the angel differs greatly. So you must be ready for getting down the boat in the time of necessity.

  1.  Practice shooting

The property of water is, it refracts light thus anything that is submerged tends to appear higher than its actual position. Similarly, the fishes too look higher than its actual position. Your motif should be aiming the place under your target that requires practice. As we all know practice makes man perfect.  You can also check the guide to know more about – How to aim Bowfishing Perfectly?

If you are planning to shoot the target in your garden then it is a complete no as the refraction effect won’t be there. It is better to set up an underwater target and practice there until you are good at it.

  1. Choosing the right bow

Your first bow buying experience involves a lot of stuff. From a wide choice available in the market your focus must be on those that look good in your hand then precision is also important before buying a bow be sure you take the trail and check how accurate it is. Having a bow that draws smooth tends to give you more successful bowfishing than the jerky one. These are the quite important stuff that requires to be in mind while choosing a bow.

  1. Bottle style reel is every beginner’s best friend

Yes, you read it right. A wide range of bowfishing reels are available in the market among them spin cast, retriever and bottle style are popular. If you are a pro then you would be knowing spin cast reel is the one for you as it gives a load of benefits that are lacked by others. However, it is the poorest choice for the beginner.

You need to be always alert and movement should be fast. In such a case, it becomes difficult to leave the spool and to take care of whether the line is tangled before shooting an arrow. The arrow might result in coming backwards and leads to injuries if the line is not clear.

In comparison to this, the bottle reel is too damn easy to use. And it takes a little amount of attention before the shot.

  1. Use of two barb tips or the three barb tips

It completely depends on which place you are fishing at. If you are fishing in a dense area the three barb tips are not the one for you though it effectively penetrates the fish’s body and secures your meal in the same way once it gets embedded into thick roots of the tree or in the grass that are entangled it becomes very difficult to get it out.

In the shallow water using two barb tips is a wise decision. Though it might slip out of the fish’s body in dense place but can be easily freed from the dense area.

Both of the pros and cons now it depend on you what you want to choose.

  1. Using  recurve bow

Apart from the regular bow, many bowfisher enjoy using a recurve bow. It provides a bowfisher lot of benefits such as it is quite easier to shoot. mastering the art of using the recurve bow will definitely serve you better than the compound bow.

  1. Bowfishing in dark

You may be thinking why to choose a night instead of day? The daylight provides you much fun to bowfishing but night makes the fishing experience more and more interesting as well as dramatic. A good bowfishing lighting system along with it the knowledge of not having obstacles under the boat is required. A thrilling experience will be acquired by you and trust me every bowfisher must have such experience without any fail and you definitely will go for it once again.

Conclusion

I know the blog has already enriched you with a lot of important information however the motif is to enjoy so do not feel pressure to be perfect from the beginning. Every time go into the water you yourself will acquire knowledge and get perfect. Remember the given points to make it easier.
